Junk food addict had a £30000 of NHS surgery but liquidises kebabs to cheat his gastric band
Obese Chris McDonnell is so hooked on junk food despite £30,000 of NHS weight-loss ops he liquidises kebabs and burgers to cheat his gastric band.
The hospice nurse, 31, even puts deep-fried Mars bars in a blender so he can eat them without vomiting.
Gorging on the greasy gunk he has piled on seven stone in just a year and had to have his band adjusted for the eighth time last month.
Today he warns surgery on thousands of obese patients may be failing because their underlying addictions are not being addressed.
He tells the Sunday Mirror: “More and more people are having gastric bands
and bypasses on the NHS and I know it can’t be just me doing this. “The problem isn’t in your stomach, it’s in your brain – and if you’re an addict you’ll stop at nothing.
