A gastric Band is a special inflatable band which is placed around the top portion of the patient’s stomach
Gastric Banding is the very least invasive of the top gastric sleeve surgeries. The surgical treatment tightens a band around a part of the upper stomach pouch, making individuals only capable of feed on very small volumes.
Distinct from all the other surgeries, gastric banding is changeable.
An injection port is embedded below the skin layers of the stomach, and saline solution is injected into the band to squeeze it.
Because of the fact that the intestine is remained intact, consumed foods are digested routinely, and ongoing direction is less necessary.
There are few reported problems with gastric banding other than occasional issues for this particular type of procedure
- Sliding of the band is frequent
- bacterial infection
- the stomach expanding around the band creating tenderness.
