Gastric sleeve surgery in France

The most popular surgeries he has been successfully rendering for years are the sleeve gastrectomy and the gastric bypass. These weight loss surgeries shrink the stomach and alter the digestive system to induce weight loss, which have effected a great weight loss in people who once have been highly obese. helen who had a gastric sleeve in February 2015Here is the testimonial of Helen who had gastric sleeve surgery in France in February 2015 It is nearly 3 months since my Gastric Sleeve surgery and life couldn’t be better.
  • I have dropped 2 dress sizes
  • lost 49 pounds.
  • I get excited about getting dressed in the morning.
  • I have renewed energy.
  • I am more positive.
  • I now take more pride in my appearance.
  • I spend time doing my hair and makeup in the mornings and
  • I walk more confidently.

Friends and colleagues comment on how well I look

Whilst I still weigh just over 20 stone and am still morbidly obese, they say I don’t look it. The weight loss has been slow and steady and I resist the temptation to weigh myself daily as this can be demoralising. I still have no appetite and when I go out for a meal I order either a starter or a children’s meal. Some restaurants have a policy that adults cannot order from the children’s menu, but I have found that if you explain to the waiting staff what you have been through they will co-operate and provide a suitable sized meal. This center of Excellence for Bariatric Surgery provides least incisive procedures like gastric banding, and also the highly popular and successful sleeve gastrectomy and gastric bypass surgies. A complete multidisciplinary evaluation and treatment for patients with severe obesity and associated health problems. The treatment includes an extensive pre-operative evaluation and long-term follow-up with a diet plan. Read more…

Obese Teen Admits To Binging On Junk Food, Pleads For Weight Loss Surgery [Video]

Gastric Band Surgery

Probably accepted as being the most acceptable type of obesity surgery completed All over the World.

compare best price gastric band surgery

An obese 15-year-old girl recently spoke out about her junk food. Now, she wants to do something about her debilitating addiction. According to the Mirror, Brooke Taylor reportedly weighs about 250 pounds, and she’s struggled to shed the extra pounds all her life — but to no avail. So, now she wants to take a different approach in order to get the job done. She is pleading for NHS Human Services to assist her with having the gastric band surgery.
During a recent interview with This Morning, Brooke shared a number of details about her junk food addiction and how she’s battled with weight problems the majority of her life. She also revealed how difficult life has been socially, because her peers haven’t always been considerate of her feelings, reports the Daily Star.
“I think when I was about six or seven, I was putting it on and not burning it off,” she explained on This Morning.
  • “I’d eat chips, pizza, not healthy stuff. I’ve spent all of my teenage years [overweight] it’s probably going to go on until I’m 20.
  • This is holding me back from living a normal life. People judge your appearance before they get to know you.
  • I wouldn’t eat lunch in school because I don’t like eating in front of people. I’m worried about what they’ll say.”
She also discussed how she feels the gastric band will be beneficial for her. Although she’s aware the procedure isn’t a “quick fix,” she feels that shrinking her stomach would decrease the amount of food she can consume. The Gastric Band NHS should provide long-term health benefits. However, she also revealed that it may serve as a form of empowerment that could lead to a better social life for her.
“It’s not a quick fix but if I can meet NHS Gastric Band Criteria it will be beneficial in the long run. I’ll start to like the way I look and feel more confident with the way I look and be able to go out and make friends.”

Super-slimmer who shed 13 stone after turning down gastric band refused NHS op to remove …

gastric sleeve surgery in France

A super-slimmer who shed more than 13st has been refused an NHS operation to have the spare skin removed.

David Harris, 45, went down from 27st 9lb to 14st 3lb after deciding to get slim following a mini-stroke in 2012. The father-of-three now trains in the gym seven days a week and says he feels a lot healthier. But he claims his fitness regime has counted against him, because he has been denied treatment after putting two stone back on – even though that weight is muscle rather than fat. He said: “I am so motivated to build up my strength and muscle, but there is no way you can do anything with loose skin around the belly. “The only place I can’t tone up is the stomach skin – no matter how much abs training or sit-ups I do it will not get rid of the loose skin. “I want to be able to take my top off, but I always have to keep my vest on.” Mr Harris had decided not to opt for treatment which would have helped him lose weight – instead, he lost more than 13st thanks to his own efforts. Now he has also overhauled his diet completely, more than halving his daily calorie intake. He said: “I was just eating junk food – pizzas, kebabs, chips, crisps, cakes and a lot of energy drinks full of sugar.” For the first nine months after he started losing weight, Mr Harris ate Slim-Fast products at breakfast and lunch, with a Weight Watchers dinner and a yoghurt. Now his diet is completely changed, with an emphasis on protein and vegetables. But despite his total transformation, Mr Harris was left dismayed when he was subsequently told he did not qualify for NHS treatment to remove his loose skin. And he said he cannot afford the thousands of pounds it would cost to go private. He explained: “I was told by my doctor that if I lost four or five stone I would be considered for a gastric band. “I lost four stone then five, six, seven. I told them I didn’t want one as I was doing it on my own, I was doing quite well.” But when he asked for the loose skin to be removed, he was turned down. Mr Harris said he has always been able to rely on the support of his wife Michelle. The couple celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary on Valentine’s Day. Addressing David’s case the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, the group which is in charge of deciding on whether to approve surgery or not, said a range of information was used to assess whether a patient was eligible for treatment. A spokesman said: “WHSSC has a commissioning policy for body contouring, which covers a range of procedures including abdominoplasty following significant weight loss. “Referring clinicians are asked to provide specific clinical information regarding a patient’s condition and medical history. This information is used to assess eligibility for NHS-funded treatment. “WHSSC recognises that a patient’s condition can change over time and will reconsider requests for treatment on receipt of relevant additional clinical information.” Read more…

Honey Boo Boo, Mama June Booed: June Talks Lap Band Weight Loss Surgery

Compare Price of Gastric Band Surgery In Europe compare best price gastric band surgery

Honey Boo Boo, Mama June Booed On ‘The Doctors’: Mama June Shannon and Honey Boo Boo (Alana Thompson) first appeared on The Doctors in February to discuss the little reality TV star’s need for weight loss and her obesity. Now, after several visits from nutritionists and the show’s co-host Dr. Rachael Ross to try to help, it’s time for Honey Boo Boo and Mama June to return to the show, and June received a chorus of boos amid revelations that she wants lap band surgery for herself, reported the Daily Mail.
Nutritionist Jeanne B. McDaniel had given the family meals prepared by a chef for six weeks, and the show also provided Honey Boo Boo with a bicycle to encourage her to exercise more. The health check-up and weigh-in included a confrontation from Dr. Travis Stork and his co-hosts about the increased risk for Honey Boo Boo as a result of her obesity.
But an April 2 check-in from Dr. Rachael and Jeanne provided questionable results on their progress.
“There are a lot of meals that have been left over from some weeks. I’m not really sure why Mom isn’t on board but, she has expressed that they all want to eat healthier. It appears Alana is going this on her own right now.”
On the May 20 episode, Mama June and Alana tried out some recipe alternatives on the episode, but Dr. Travis Stork and Dr. Jennifer Ashton also confronted Mama June regarding her commitment to save Honey Boo Boo’s life and happiness. And June found herself booed by the audience. Mama June, 35, has struggled with her own weight. But The Doctors focused on the fact that the nine-year-old, at four feet, six inches tall, needed to lose at least 12 pounds to overcome her obesity, with 25 pounds recommended as the ultimate goal. But Dr. Travis was stern with Mama June at the fact that the little girl had not achieved her goals. Read more at….

Couple forced to abandon fertility treatment sues surgical implant maker

A Lafourche Parish couple brought a lawsuit against a California-based medical manufacturer for alleged product liability in 2014. Tawanna Mead and Jermaine Mead of Thibodaux filed a complaint against Allergan Inc. of Irvine, Calif., in the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Louisiana on May 7, citing damages in a January 2014 incident and thereafter. The suit alleges damages incurred in the Parish of Terrebonne as a consequence of Tawanna’s LAP-BAND surgery on June 25, 2010. According to court documents, Tawanna began to experience weight gain and pain at the port site in or around January 2014. She underwent corrective surgery on or about May 9, 2014, wherein the device was removed and replaced. The couple had been forced to cease fertility treatments due to her problems with the allegedly defective product, because the second surgery required X-rays. The Meads allege that due to the device’s failure, they have been unable to conceive a child because they spent all their money on the previous fertility regimens. Claiming medical bills, lost wages, mental pain and anguish, weight gain and other LAP-BAND related issues; loss of consortium, and loss of funds, the couple cites the defendant with negligence; manufacturing defects; strict liability and breach of warranty. The Meads seek damages, interest, attorney’s fees, expenses, and costs. They are represented by David J. Schexnaydre of Schexnaydre Law Firm in Mandeville. Read more…

Solutions to tackling obesity in Africa
Statistics from the World Health Organisation show that more than 600 million adults across the globe are obese. South Africa is a leader in this alarming trend, with about 61% of the population being overweight or obese. These statistics highlight the importance of addressing the disease on the African continent. This is according to Professor Tess van der Merwe, chair of the South African Society for Obesity and Metabolism and speaker at the Surgery Conference to be held as part of the Africa Health Exhibition & Congress 2015, who says that the rise in global obesity rates are presenting major public health issues for the future, especially in the developing worlds. “Obesity is growing on a global scale, faster than any other cause of disease, with South Africa being on the forefront of this growth on the African continent.” While many countries are attempting to address the crisis by imposing taxes on fizzy drinks, with Japanese companies even issuing fines to overweight staff, Prof van der Merwe says that increased focus should be placed on the important role that metabolic and biariatric surgeries have in serious obesity cases on the continent. She says that a lot of scepticism surrounded the topic of metabolic surgery during the last century, but due to the large increase in the number of people with obesity, a successful long-term obesity management programme became a prerequisite. “Obesity is and always will be a chronic medical disease and not all obese patients are suitable surgical candidates. All patients need to be thoroughly assessed before and after the surgery.” Prof van der Merwe explains that there are three types of bariatric / metabolic surgeries available to patients medically requiring surgery for weight loss. “These types of surgeries can be referred to as a group of procedures that involve the reduction or bypassing sections of the patient’s stomach, commonly used as a treatment method for obesity.” Metabolic surgery has proven to dramatically improve glycaemic control, which leads to complete resolution of Type 2 Diabetes in the majority of patients. Prof van der Merwe says that the restrictive procedure limits intake and contains no intestinal bypass. “This includes gastric banding and sleeve gastrectomy. Lapbanding uses a silicone band, which is placed around the upper part of the stomach to create a small stomach pouch that can only hold a small amount of food. The food the patient consumes will pass through the upper stomach pouch to the lower pouch more slowly resulting in the patient feeling fuller for a longer period of time.” She explains that the Roux-en-Y procedure is currently the most extensively performed bariatric procedure. “This is the most common type of malabsorptive and restrictive surgical procedure where a small stomach pouch in created to restrict food intake for the patient.” A malabsorptive procedure involves bypassing a portion of the intestine in an effort to limit the amount of energy absorbed from the foods ingested by the patient. Most of these procedures combine an intestinal bypass with a restrictive procedure and has proven to be the most effective method of assuring long-term weight loss, points out Prof van der Merwe. She explains that individuals who have already developed, or are facing an increased risk of developing obesity and its associated health complications, are in crucial need of obesity management programmes within the public and private healthcare sector. “Obesity needs to be viewed as a disease and should be adequately addressed in Africa as a whole to decrease the prevalence of the disease on the continent.” The Surgery Conference is part the 5th annual Africa Health Exhibition and Congress, which is set to take place from May 5-7, 2015 at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa. Africa Health is supported by South African Nursing Council (SANC), the Alliance of South African Independent Practitioners (ASAIPA), The Council for Health Service Accreditation of Southern Africa (COHSASA) and Diabetes South Africa, as well as international healthcare giants such as Maquet, Draeger, GE Healthcare and Stiegelmeyer.
